… Because I Love You!

Some time ago, for no particular reason this short phrase came into my mind, “… because I love You!” At that moment I was thinking of God.

I wish to do many things for my Savior but have pure love as my biggest and the only motivation. Sadly though, in the deepest corners of my heart, there were times when I would find wrong reasons for my good deeds. There were times when that pushing power was pride, or selfrighteousness, or man-pleasing. This fact made me angry because I hated it as I kept finding myself unchanged.

In my sober mind I have made a solid decision that whatever I do from now on will be “because I love Him!” So, now whenever I preach, sing, work, or write, I do it because I love Him! I put all my deeds before this phrase “… because I love You!” This  puts everything to its place and uncovers the truth about my actions.
