Christianity Shouldn’t Be An Advertising Agency

Romans 6:23

Yes, Christianity shouldn’t be an advertising agency, but a lot of times this is the very thing it reminds me of. Advertising agencies make sure people hear only what they would love to hear. They make sure people see only what people would love to see. Ads never point out negative sides of the product. They bring out only bright and beautiful sides.

Christianity shouldn’t be an advertising agency where what people would love is written with biggest letters and the most important information is written with the smallest letters. True Christians shouldn’t be afraid to shout out the truth from the roof tops, because this is what truth deserves – to be known and never  ashamed of.

Back To How It All Supposed To Be!

When we honestly worship God, something incredible happens. Time begins to shift; from present reality into the state of being of how it all supposed to be from the beginning. When we worship God, it is as if we go back to the beginning when God just created man and everything was perfect. Problems, sweat, pain, hurt – it all didn’t exist.

When we worship our God in truth and in Spirit, we take ourselves back to how it all supposed to be, because during worship God does miracles. During worship pain runs away, God reveals how to deal with certain life situations and problems, depression changes into happiness, life comes closer and closer to the perfection God intended for His children. “For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT).

God has a plan for your life! And that plan is good—not average, mediocre, or boring. It was established in the mind of God before you were ever born, before the creation of the earth itself.

This truth is made incredibly clear in Psalm 139. Look at what David writes…

“O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (vs 1-4; 15-16 NIV) More

Christianity? What is it? What is Christianity not?

Ever wondered what is Christianity? Here are some ideas from scripture.

Christianity is not just something we do, but something Jesus did for us.
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Christianity is not intended to make us better people; Jesus makes us new people.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Christianity is not just pie in the sky when you die, it is the kingdom of heaven in our hearts.
Luke 17:21 “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Christianity is not a Sunday affair. Its a daily love affair with Jesus.
Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”

Christianity is not a heavy burden, Jesus’ burden is light.
Jesus said in: Matthew 11:29-30 “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Christianity is not just a way of life to be practised – it is a gift of life to be nurtured.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” More

You Can Do Nothing

[Jesus said] “Without me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

In everything the life of the branch is to be the exact counterpart of that of the Vine. Of himself Jesus had said: “The Son can do nothing of himself (John 5:19).” As the outcome of that entire dependence, He could add: “All that the Father doeth, doeth the Son also likewise.” As Son He did not receive His life from the Father once for all, But moment by moment. His life was a continual waiting on the Father for all He was to do. And so Christ says of His disciples: “Ye can do nothing apart from Me.” He means it literally. To everyone who wants to live the true disciple life, to bring forth fruit and glorify God, the message come: You can do nothing. What had been said: “He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit,” is here enforced by the simplest and strongest of arguments: “Abiding in Me is indispensable, for, you know it, of yourselves you can do nothing to maintain or act out the heavenly life.” More

Why Read The Bible?

“I’m a busy person with a lot to do. Why should I spend time reading the Bible? I don’t have time to do all I need to do as it is.”

“I already believe in Jesus Christ. I’ve already heard the Gospel.”

“Why should I read the Bible?”

The following Scriptures should answer the question.

JOHN 8:31-32 RSV
31 Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples,
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

JOSHUA 1:8 Beck
8 Don’t stop reading this book of the Law, but day and night think of what it says, so you can be careful to do everything written in it; then you will prosper and succeed.

ACTS 20:32 LB
32 “And now I entrust you to God and his care and to his wonderful words that are able to build your faith and give you all the inheritance of those who are set apart for himself.

MATTHEW 4:4 NLT
4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People need more than bread for their life; they must feed on every word of God.’ “

JOHN 6:63 ICB
63 It is not the flesh that gives a person life. It is the spirit that gives life. The words I told you are spirit, and so they give life.

ROMANS 15:4 CEV
4 And the Scriptures were written to teach and encourage us by giving us hope.
