7 Steps To Living A Holy Life

1. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

2.  Put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you.
Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.

3. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him.
In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.

After studying the lives of some of the most influential characters of the bible and Christianity; Moses, Apostle Paul, John the Baptist, Jesus, and more, I found that we are the strongest at our weakest and we are the highest at our lowest. This is when I opened up my heart to except “dessert of my life” as my home.

A Heart After God

Before reading this post, I would recommend you to read a chapter from 1-Kings and look at verses 9-14, so you might have a better understanding about what is written in here.

How many of us would love to have God to perform some miracle, so we could see it with our eyes.

Once I have found myself in the position of looking for an awesome and powerful move of God. I wanted it to be in the way that everyone would see it and truly appreciate the reality of God in my live. That way, people would know how close to God I am. Well, one day when I read 1-Kings 19:9-14, His Spirit lead me to think different about that great idea.

Why We Need to Pray

prayerThe one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray. – Samuel Chadwick

Jesus’ ministry was founded on prayer

Luke 5:15-16
15 However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. 16 So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.

Mark 1:35
35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Luke 9:18
18 And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples joined Him, and He asked them, saying, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”

Luke 11:1
1 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

The early Church was devoted to prayer

Acts 1:14
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication…

Acts 2:42
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Acts 4:31
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Why Read The Bible?

“I’m a busy person with a lot to do. Why should I spend time reading the Bible? I don’t have time to do all I need to do as it is.”

“I already believe in Jesus Christ. I’ve already heard the Gospel.”

“Why should I read the Bible?”

The following Scriptures should answer the question.

JOHN 8:31-32 RSV
31 Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples,
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

JOSHUA 1:8 Beck
8 Don’t stop reading this book of the Law, but day and night think of what it says, so you can be careful to do everything written in it; then you will prosper and succeed.

ACTS 20:32 LB
32 “And now I entrust you to God and his care and to his wonderful words that are able to build your faith and give you all the inheritance of those who are set apart for himself.

MATTHEW 4:4 NLT
4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People need more than bread for their life; they must feed on every word of God.’ “

JOHN 6:63 ICB
63 It is not the flesh that gives a person life. It is the spirit that gives life. The words I told you are spirit, and so they give life.

ROMANS 15:4 CEV
4 And the Scriptures were written to teach and encourage us by giving us hope.

5 Reasons Why We Need Holly Spirit

1. John 14:26 (New Living Translation)
But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

2. Romans 8:26 (New Living Translation)
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

3. Acts 1:8 (New Living Translation)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
